Sumer is pleased to participate in the 2023 edition of the Aotearoa Art Fair.

The gallery will be exhibiting new works by Wiradjuri and Celtic Australian artist Brook Andrew. A leading artist, academic, facilitator and proponent for indigenous peoples and their cultures, Andrew's practice is driven by the collisions of intertwined narratives, often emerging from the mess of the “Colonial Wuba (hole)”. Their artworks, museum interventions, research, leadership roles and curatorial projects challenge the limitations imposed by power structures, historical amnesia and complicity to centre and support Indigenous ways of knowing and being through systemic change and yindyamarra (respect, honour, go slow and responsibility). This is artist's first solo presentation with a commercial gallery in Aotearoa New Zealand.

For more information on the work, please contact the gallery here.
