Using audio from songs and recordings of environments to form digital kupesi or patterns, Faletau has created a unique Tongan visual vocabulary of time and space.

Tau’a’alo refers to a chant that expresses the essence of paddling together - a metaphor for coordinated effort. As well as synchronising motion, tau’a’alo are said to ‘lighten the heart and strengthen the muscles’.
