the Secret Path is an interactive art scavenger hunt on George Street for children and adults during the April school holidays, from Saturday 16 April to Saturday 30 April.

In selected shop fronts on George Street artworks will be displayed by local artists with scavenger hunt clues hidden inside. These artworks will be made with the history of George Street in mind, and will share pieces of Ōtepoti’s history. the Secret Path is an exciting interactive way to uncover the parts of George Street’s history you never knew, and will encourage you to think about artwork and the built landscapes around you in new ways.

Pick up a scavenger hunt booklet from Dunedin City Library and participating shops to start your journey. The booklet will contain a map of each artwork clue word, and when all the clues are discovered they complete a passphrase sentence which is your key to unlocking a prize. Once you have discovered the secret passphrase, follow the instructions in the booklet to receive your top secret prize!

This activity is appropriate for children of all ages with adult supervision.
