W A N A is a global time marker of a world post-pandemic cloud that hovers over us today.

Brought together through Māori concepts of energies IHI (magnetic force), WEHI (awe/fear), and WANA (activation or outcome of IHI and WEHI), these artists respond with consideration to how we hold time and space.

A haka for all those that have passed, this war dance continues for those that remain much like a hangover from the morning after. Refusing to be consumed or overwhelmed by a new day, we instead choose to karanga from the four winds as women, mothers, artists, and everything else in between. Through nurture and nature, we seek determination to clear the thick fog, deciding to weave our love, experiences, loss, and aspirations together.

Inhale the power of wāhine. Exhale beauty through art. We are W A N A.
