Using symbols and ideas common to the Samhain and Yule festivals in the pagan Wheel of the Year, Ōtautahi artist Jen Bowmast harnesses intangible energies and considers other ways of understanding the world and its many dimensions. Smoke signals the transition of matter to spirit, harvest wreaths offer protection over the Gallery, and Bowmast reveals how we seek guidance from the spiritual realms for an uncertain future. As the season changes, the project will too, with a new iteration in December launching alongside an artist book and other festivities.
