mothermother is an artist run gallery based in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Our fulcra of equality, gift and reciprocity supports a continually expanding collective, seeking to celebrate connection and intergenerational knowledge-sharing. The program evolves as each artist passes the taonga of invitation onto the next, fostering support and opportunity. mothermother artists are not necessarily biological mothers, but rather embody a kaupapa of manaakitanga, caretaking and support.
