Aotearoa Art Fair, New Zealand’s premier event for contemporary art, has unveiled details for its highly anticipated 2024 edition, taking place from 18 – 21 April in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
In an exciting move, the renowned art event will take place at the iconic Viaduct Events Centre, located on Waitemata Harbour in the vibrant Wynyard Quarter. Presented in partnership with ANZ Private and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, the 2024 edition of the Aotearoa Art Fair reaffirms its economic significance within New Zealand’s visual arts sector. This year marks an exciting new chapter for the Fair, now under the ownership of the organisers of Australasia’s premier art fair; Sydney Contemporary. Leveraging their international expertise and vast network of connections, this promises an exciting future and will take the event to new heights.
Commenting on the exciting developments, Aotearoa Art Fair co-owner Tim Etchells expressed his enthusiasm. “We are excited to officially be part of Aotearoa New Zealand’s vibrant and dynamic art scene. We see this as a natural evolution focused on building a broader base of art communities and art exchange in the Asia Pacific region and strengthening the relationship between our member fairs. Our deep understanding of the region and each local market and experience organising world-class arts events will provide unique opportunities for the New Zealand visual arts community to grow and prosper.”
The Aotearoa Art Fair program is designed to accommodate collectors and art enthusiasts alike, offering a compelling blend of activities alongside the gallery presentations including tours, artist talks, panel discussions, outdoor sculptures, performances, a range of dining options and more.
