ArtNow.NZ are looking for a part-time Assistant to work alongside the ArtNow Coordinator for one day per week (or two half-days per week).
The Assistant will help the ArtNow Coordinator to upload exhibition and event information, supplied by participating galleries, to the ArtNow.NZ website, and communicate with the galleries to ensure their listings are correct and up to date.
The ideal candidate will have a background in contemporary visual art, be detail oriented and very organised, great with people, self-motivated and a strong communicator (verbally and written), have some familiarity with website/CMS management and basic photoshop skills, and enjoy promoting the best of Aotearoa New Zealand’s visual arts.
At approx. 8 hours / week (either as one full day or two half-days), based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, this position would offer outstanding experience to a student looking to gain knowledge of the galleries across Aotearoa New Zealand and their exhibition and event programmes, or an artist seeking part time work. The role offers an insight into the promotion of contemporary visual arts to the widest audiences.

ArtNow.NZ is Aotearoa New Zealand’s online platform for listing contemporary art exhibitions, events and news from over 60 galleries across the country. In addition, ArtNow.NZ lists art books, limited edition artworks available for sale from galleries, and has recently launched a new section, offering interactive maps for self-guided art walks in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. ArtNow.NZ promotes the exhibitions and events listed on the website through social media (Instagram and Facebook) and a weekly e-newsletter sent to our opt-in database. The ArtNow.NZ website attracts around 5000 users each month generating 15,000 page views, with an Instagram following of 10.5k.
