About Artspace Aotearoa
Artspace Aotearoa is a leading non-profit contemporary art organisation located in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland on Karangahape Road. Founded in 1987 by artists, it centres the ways in which art contributes to our understanding and reimagining of the world in which we live. Artspace Aotearoa runs a rigorous annual programme of exhibitions that are enriched through public programmes, screenings, online publishing, and residencies. It works within a specific city context, and spirals out into national and international conversations that promote practices that present emancipatory world views. With a specific focus on developing an intergenerational kaupapa, Artspace Aotearoa seeks to present established, emergent and under-recognised positions. Artspace Aotearoa acknowledges the provisions of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and as an organisation we support and value Indigenous creative practices within Aotearoa New Zealand and abroad.

About the role

The Manahautū General Manager (GM) works closely with the Kaitohu Director to ensure the evolving expression of our artistic and strategic priorities as outlined in Te Ara Tipu by honing in on developing and expanding robust financial frameworks appropriate for a non-profit organisation and streamlining our day to day operations with holistic processes that effectively support achieving our high standard of deliverables. As part of the team, the GM works to deliver a dynamic, empowering exhibition programme in a safe and professional manner to our diverse and publics. As part of a small team with a dynamic programme there are periods of unders and overs which together with the team we will work to ensure a healthy and nourishing working environment. As part of a team situations may arise where you share roles with other team members in a fluid and agile way.
