The Kit is a subscription-based resource facility located on the basement level of Artspace Aotearoa, the former sorting room of the Tāmaki Makaurau central post office. Like the sorting room, The Kit seeks to sift and connect, making sure skills, support, and cohort are enabled post-art school, or as practitioners seek to deepen their professional capabilities.

The Kit offers two key services to subscribers who pay a one-off annual subscription fee:
- access to professional skills labs offered monthly
- 1:1 consultation with the technical team to problem-solve production processes

In addition, as a subscriber you can rent the large multi-purpose space for rehearsal, production tests, documenting work etc for an additional fee on a single-day basis.

Individual $75 NZD, September 2023 — August 2024
Organisations $300 NZD September 2023 — August 2024

The Kit pilot will run from September 2023 — August 2024

The Kit Skills Labs are a practical and seminar-based professional development series for a spectrum of arts practitioners. The series is designed to provide the professional tools needed to maintain an artistic practice and career in Aotearoa New Zealand. The labs run either a half or whole day depending on the learning objective and are led by practicing professionals.

Keep an eye on upcoming Labs here.
