Rhea Maheshwari is a New Zealand / Indian artist who primarily creates ornamental paintings that resemble tapestries. She draws inspiration from 17th and 18th century Mughal miniatures, in particular their decorative and ornamental elements. Rhea was part of a recent group exhibition Kiss Taraf (2023) at The Art Paper headquarters, and currently in Yahaan (2024), Corban Estate Arts Centre.

Rhea will appear in multiple projects with Bergman Gallery in 2024, including the upcoming Aotearoa Art Fair, April 18-21.
