Applications are invited for an Event Administrator Intern role with Aotearoa Art Fair and New Zealand’s newest art event, TENT. This role offers the opportunity to develop essential skills and experience in all aspects of event delivery. The Event Administrator Internship is a paid, fixed term position from 4 October 2021 – 6 March 2022 (part-time in October and then full time from November).

Working with the Art Fair co-directors and the Fair Manager, you will spend the first month working 3-days per week, largely on TENT, learning the fundamentals of website management and assisting with promotion of the event. From mid-November, you will become full time, and your focus will shift to the Aotearoa Art Fair and will include responsibility for collecting and presenting information on the individual events at the Fair (artists talks, VIP events etc), keeping the Art Fair website up to date, making sure images are readily available for media and social media use, running a schools’ programme at the Art Fair, and being an integral part of the operations office throughout the live Fair.

Manaakitanga will take precedence in the way you work. You will be detail orientated, very organised, self-motivated and a strong communicator, who is looking to learn. You will show initiative, and be able to multi-task while remaining focused and considered in a high-paced work environment. Experience with the Microsoft suite of business applications and good knowledge of photoshop is essential, plus some experience of web technologies.

This is an ideal role for someone graduating this year or someone wanting to gain experience in organising large-scale events. An interest in contemporary art is a plus, but in-depth knowledge is not essential.
