Gus Fisher Gallery is currently looking for an experienced Gallery Assistant to support the team through artwork invigilation and oversight of day-to-day visitor flow during the exhibition Derek Jarman: Delphinium Days, 15 June – 14 September 2024. The role is offered on a fixed term part-time basis to be worked on Fridays and Saturdays during the exhibition.
Through roaming invigilation and monitoring, you will contribute to front of house procedures and instill best practice through the upkeep of gallery spaces. You will provide a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors to the gallery and be a point of information about the exhibition. With prior experience of working as part of a gallery team in a front of house capacity, you will have demonstrable experience of working in a public space to monitor audience engagement. You will be a confident communicator and understand allyship of LGBTQIA+ communities. A passion for contemporary art and experience of assisting with events is preferred.
