Te Pātaka Toi Adam Art Gallery is seeking applications for a Public Programmes and Communications Coordinator. This is a new permanent, fulltime position. This is an exciting opportunity to join our small team to contribute to the Gallery’s work by developing and delivering public programmes and in-person, online and print communications. We are seeking someone who can help us enrich, explain and promote the work of the Adam Art Gallery with the aims of building audiences and extending the Gallery’s impact. The successful candidate will be familiar with the demands, challenges, expectations and rewards of work in the art gallery sector and have a good understanding of art and art history as well as being open and able to bring wider perspectives to bear in conceiving and delivering public programmes and communications.
You will have proven abilities as a writer, editor and proof-reader and be capable of preparing relevant copy for a range of platforms and occasions. You will be a confident speaker and a warm host, with a genuine interest in people, a desire to connect with audiences, and the requisite empathy to work with artists, curators, critics, scholars, students, and the media.
