The public can join the three guest selectors to choose art works for the list of finalists for the $30,000 prize pool for the Academy Prize for Visual Art. Each selector has independently chosen 25 works to be finalists. The last 25 finalists will be determined based on total public votes cast. The results will be published on nzafa.com within three days of voting closing.

If everyone agrees, there will be only 25 finalists; if nobody agrees, there will be 100. Somewhere between 60 and 80 finalists seems a safe prediction.

Voting for your favourite artworks also gives you a chance to win a night for two at the DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington hotel in the heart of Wellington on Lambton Quay plus double tickets to the gala exhibition opening and awards announcement ceremony in Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre on 6 August.
