Te Whare Toi o Heretaunga is seeking a motivated Visitor Experience Lead. This new full-time role comes at a time when the Gallery is strengthening its public delivery and relationships to its communities and visitors of all ages.

Te Whare Toi o Heretaunga - Hastings City Art Gallery is the home of contemporary art in Te Matau-a-Māui Hawke’s Bay. The Gallery works with artists and its communities to grow creativity within the region, and to explore the role of arts and culture in the world. The Gallery presents a lively programme of local, national, and international contemporary art – through exhibitions, events and education programmes.

The Visitor Experience Lead position is an opportunity to make an impact and grow a range of leadership skills in a supportive environment. They will be responsible for managing the Gallery’s Front of House and Visitor Hosts and will collaborate with staff across different areas of the Gallery to enhance visitor experiences and engagement. The successful applicant will also lead the expansion of Te Toa, the Gallery Shop, and work with local artists, designers and makers to create an engaging retail offering which profiles creatives in the region and beyond.
