Pātaka Art + Museum is the cultural jewel of Porirua City. As well as being a world-leading contemporary art gallery and museum dedicated to Māori, Pacific and Aotearoa New Zealand culture, Pātaka also houses a range of public meeting rooms and performance spaces for corporate and community events. Pātaka is located in the cultural precinct of Porirua City, next to the Te Rauparaha Arena and Swimming Pools, with plentiful free parking throughout the day. Our modern facilities provide a family-friendly environment that is welcoming for people of all ages, abilities, genders, ethnicities and cultures.

Whirinaki Whare Taonga is a vibrant arts centre where you can to enjoy art, culture, history and entertainment. Five fabulous galleries have a constantly changing programme of exhibitions ranging from the very best New Zealand and international art, to local arts and craft and historical exhibitions, with a special focus on interactive experiences and family friendly activities. It’s the hub for audience engagement and participation in the arts for Upper Hutt with a varied programme of special events, workshops for children, artist talks, and education classes for schools and community activities which vary throughout year.
