McLeavey Gallery is delighted to invite to you to the opening of A Family Collection – a selection of works collected by John and Tui Farrell in Wellington during the 1970s and ‘80s.
Like many leading collections, the works came from Peter McLeavey Gallery and represent some of the finest examples of each artist's practice. Works were collected intuitively, leading to happy coincidences and surprising and pleasing arrangements – a family collection in every sense.
Forming the backdrop of family life for nearly half a century, this treasured, jewel-like collection is entering a new stage and we are honoured to make available a selection of key works by Michael Illingworth, Richard Killeen, Olivia Spencer Bower and Gordon Walters.
