The Handmade Darkroom is a photographic collective based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara focused on exploring and expanding on the sustainability of analogue photography in the face of the enduring climate crisis.
After collectively shooting black and white film, we will walk you through our personal caffenol recipes and develop the rolls together! Discussing how to get the best results and trouble-shooting. Both Samson and Belinda have adapted a recipe to suit their personal style and measurement preference, so they will walk you through their personalised recipes. The handmade darkroom encourages you to find a style of photography that works for you, and alternative processes are the best way to start!
