Curator Talk & Performance

Saturday 17 November from 12pm

An eight car live sound performance in Te Ngākau Civic Square.

On the opening day of 'From Scratch: 555 Moons', art/music ensemble From Scratch perform 'Carhorn Hocket' in front of City Gallery in Te Ngākau Civic Square. For fifteen boisterous minutes, musicians use eight cars as instruments—slamming doors, honking horns, and revving engines—in a dynamic sharing of rhythm.

At 1pm, following Carhorn Hocket, join Philip Dadson (From Scratch founder) and Andrew Clifford (exhibition curator) for a talk in the 555 Moons exhibition. They will be accompanied by other From Scratch members, who will give voice to instruments in the show with short demos.

From Scratch: 555 Moons is presented in association with Te Uru Waitakere Contemporary Gallery.
