Karl Chitham (Ngā Puhi, Te Uriroroi), Director of the Dowse Art Gallery, will be in conversation with some of the artists whose works feature in the exhibition, Takiwā Hou: Imagining New Spaces, an exhibition of Māori moving image works by some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most exciting contemporary artists.

Curated by Karl Chitham for Te Tuhi and currently showing in Pakuranga, this programme of works is a snapshot of the unique perspectives Indigenous artists bring to the global stage.

The talk will be part of a special event at which Te Tuhi will announce the recipient of the 2024 Iris Fisher Scholarship and, at the same time, celebrate the opening of two new exhibitions: Urban Legend, by Bena Jackson, and Character Studies, by Lolani Dalosa, commissioned by Papatūnga for the Te Tuhi billboards.
