Opening Weekend

Adam Art Gallery Te Pātaka Toi is pleased to invite you to the opening of Kate Newby’s solo exhibition YES TOMORROW. Responding to our invitation to undertake a full gallery exhibition, Newby has produced her most substantial project to date, one which intervenes in and extends beyond our building.

Join director Christina Barton and Kate Newby for a tour of the exhibition at 4pm Saturday 20 February. Meet outside the gallery entrance.

This will be followed by an informal launch of the exhibition at 5pm. Refreshments will be served and the gallery will remain open until 7.00pm.

On Sunday 21 February at 11am join Kate Newby and artist Fiona Connor in the gallery for a conversation about their evolving practices.

Adam Art Gallery is immensely grateful to all who have supported this exhibition: Creative New Zealand Toi Aotearoa; Public Art Fund, Wellington City Council; Te Whare Hēra and Massey University; Jan Warburton Charitable Trust; Jim and Mary Barr; Michael Lett; The Sunday Painter; Fine Arts, Sydney and several anonymous donors.

The Gallery would like to thank Teresa Collins, Simon Morris, Claudia Borelli, Middle Earth Tiles, Kim Damen, Duncan Shearer, Lucy Coote, Eve Armstrong, Karl Noldan, and everyone who showed up to make thigh tiles.
