Please join {Suite} on Wednesday 20 February from 5:30-7pm for the opening of an exhibition of works by renowned New Zealand photographer Peter Peryer.

This exhibition had been planned with the artist prior to his sudden death in November last year and features images made between 2010 - 2018. On show for the first time ever will be three works from 2018, including the artist’s final work Tradescantia zebrina, an image of his favourite plant.

Described as “master of the obvious and simultaneously a poet of the elusive” (Peter Ireland), Peryer was the first contemporary photographer to be given a solo exhibition at a New Zealand public art institution (1977 at the Dowse Art Museum). He was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 1997 and in 2000 was one of five inaugural Art Foundation Laureates.
