APS offers comprehensive studio printmaking facilities, including all of the equipment and materials required to produce high-quality lithographs, etchings, aquatints, screenprints and numerous other types of intaglio and relief print. APS has four presses available: two etching presses, a Charles Brand direct lithography press and New Zealand’s only Mailander flatbed offset lithography press.
In addition to our presses, APS is a fully equipped professional print studio, with facilities including (but not limited to) an expansive library of limestone lithography stones ranging from 200mm × 300mm up to 760mm × 1200mm, a vacuum exposure plate maker unit, an extensive range of rollers and brayers, an aquatint box, ferric chloride baths for etching copper and brass and a wet paper drying stack.
