With Auckland moving to Alert Level 3 on Wednesday, 12 August, this exhibition will be closed until further notice.

Pita Turei’s Hotu Painu (1988) is a quintessential document of the environmental devastation caused by the French nuclear tests conducted in the Pacific between 1966 and 1996. The documentary captures the enduring spirit of the Moruroa people, as they see their lives and land crumble in the name of progress.

Pita Turei (Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki, Ngāti Paoa, Ngā Rauru Kītahi) is a storyteller and creative collaborative practitioner based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
