This year's transition into spring marks a significant change in our organisation. On Wednesday 23 August at an intimate morning gathering, we were honoured to be formally gifted our new name, Te Wai Ngutu Kākā Gallery, by Ngāti Whātua Ōrakei. This milestone culminates the mahi of many people over a number of years, including; iwi, past and present Gallery staff, AUT leadership and many additional external stakeholders.
Please join Te Wai Ngutu Kākā Gallery on Thursday 21 September as we launch an exhibition that inaugurates our name change. Developed in partnership with Haumi, the designers of our new identity, the show draws on the rich concepts that gave rise to the name Te Wai Ngutu Kākā Gallery, and we also acknowledge the strong 19-year history of ST PAUL St Gallery.
All welcome.
