Emerging curators/artists are invited to apply to participate in a networking/learning opportunity coinciding with the 2021 Auckland Art Fair.

This will be facilitated by Tina Barton, director of the Adam Art Gallery Te Pātaka Toi at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington, together with Micheal Do, Curator of the AAF Projects and Curator of contemporary art at the Sydney Opera House, and Chloe Geoghegan, Curator at Te Uru Waitākerere Contemporary Gallery.

Over two days (24–25 February) during the Auckland Art Fair, successful participants will enjoy a programme of activities designed to take advantage of the confluence of art world people who attend the Fair and the exhibitions and events that are programmed around it.

The workshop will entail one-on-one meetings, guided tours, and discussions providing opportunities to meet gallerists, art professionals, artists, and each other, and to debate key issues participants wish to address.

Successful applicants will enjoy the full benefits of a VIP Pass.

The workshop will be limited to 12 participants. To apply, please provide concise answers to these questions:

– Where in the art ecosystem do you see yourself? (as a writer, curator, practitioner, dealer, educator, consultant, museum professional, audience member, etc.)

– Why do you want to be part of this ecosystem?

– If you had the opportunity to meet someone in the New Zealand art world, who would that be? And what would you want to talk about?

– What is one burning question you would like to discuss right now?

Applicants outside Auckland can apply for a $200 stipend to assist with travel and/or accommodation. This will be awarded in cases of genuine hardship. If you would like to apply for this please note this on your application and explain how the stipend would assist.
