Blue Oyster Art Project Space invites proposals from arts practitioners for projects between January–December 2022.

Blue Oyster's 2022 call is open to any type of project, including curatorial, writing, performance, workshops, and events, with a particular emphasis on exhibitions that develop and extend artistic practices.

Practitioners will receive an artist fee and production budget as well as support from Blue Oyster staff at each stage of development, including curatorial support, promotion, public programming, graphic design, and installation.

Proposal guidelines:

Applications must include:

–A 500 word outline of your proposed project and how it fits into your current practice. We seek proposals that are robust and well researched to be further developed in conversation with the director. It is not expected that this will be a finalised project.

–4-5 examples of your previous work (written, visual, audio and video documentation encouraged in links to websites).

–Artist CV with a bio that explains your background and experience (no more than one page).

All proposals must be submitted by the closing deadline on Monday 23 August 2021 at 11.59pm. Any proposals submitted after this time will not be considered.

Proposals for exhibitions already presented will not be considered. Please refrain from submitting a proposal sent to another gallery or organisation.

If your project is accepted for the 2022 programme, the Director will work with you to find an appropriate exhibition slot between January-December for your project. In most cases, exhibition install will take place Monday-Thursday with the exhibition opening scheduled for Thursday 5.30pm. Exhibitions run for five weeks. Exhibiting artists are required to sign an artist agreement and complete a survey or a feedback session after the exhibition.
