We’re looking for a creative, dynamic and community focused Visitor Programmes Co-ordinator to join the team at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, and at times, working as part of the wider Toitū Otago Settlers Museum and Lan Yuan Dunedin Chinese Garden teams.
With a focus on arts and culture, this role is responsible for the development and implementation of a variety of programmes, events and resources designed to deepen, expand and enhance the visitor experience and encourage greater public use of these wonderful cultural facilities.
These public offerings may include tours and group visits, holiday programmes, workshops, performances, public talks, online and non-public facing offerings, and a variety of interpretive and educational programmes that are informative, enjoyable, enterprising and meets the current audience needs while also aspiring to expand audiences and deepen visitor’s experiences and engagement.
This is not your typical 9am – 5pm job, it encompasses some weekend and weeknight work, ability to solo-manage AV equipment, physically set up and pack down venue spaces, work to budgets and timelines, and create immersive, entertaining and enriching cultural experiences based on an overall vision.
If you have a passion for public engagement and interest in trying something new - we’d love to hear from you!
