Laree Payne is delighted to announce representation of Tāmaki Makaurau based artist, Jack Hadley.

With a wide-ranging practice that spans sculpture, furniture and contemporary jewellery, Jack layers references to architecture, the decorative arts and childrens' toys to create works which disarm and delight. Pairing industrial materials and manufacturing processes with the traditional techniques of fine jewellery, Jack has a penchant for the crude but also the highly finished. Snapping together via a highly distinctive visual language of colour, form and materiality, Jack's repertoire of work follows a unique and compelling logic, aesthetic, and sensibility. These works encourage an ongoing dialogue between form and function. They confuse and confound in their apparent lack of seriousness yet on closer inspection, serious intentionality.

Jack Hadley holds a BFA (2012) and an MFA (2021) from Elam School of Fine Arts. Recent exhibitions include Seconds, Envy6011, 2023; Round Round, Objectspace, 2022; Whānui, The National, 2022; Follies, Laree Payne Gallery, 2022.

The Gallery is looking forward to showing new works by Jack Hadley alongside paintings by Nicola Farquhar at the end of September this year.
